INFLUENZA "A" TESTS AVAILABLE AT ALL RALEIGH URGENT CARE NETWORK CLINICS
Swine Flu is an Influenza "A" Strain Mutation and Treatment is Currently Available.
Recently, the United States has declared a public health emergency to deal with a new and emerging strain of Swine Flu (a mutation of the Influenza "A" Strain).
Though the chances of contacting this strain are slim, the public is encouraged to be mindful of their health and see a health care provider should any concerns arise.
All Raleigh Urgent Care Network (RUCN) Clinics have the ability to test for the A & B strains of influenza through a non-invasive test called the BiaxNOW Influenza A&B Kit. This simple test does not require blood to be drawn, and test results can be obtained in a matter of hours. If a patient is determined to have the "A" strain of the virus, and it is determined that further testing is required, RUCN will work closely with the NC State Health Department to provide further testing of the sample and determine the best course of future action. In the meantime, medication is available to the patient that combats both the existing and mutated (swine flu) "A" strains.
All Raleigh Urgent Care Network locations are open seven (7) days per week to assist those concerned:
M-F: 8am-7:45pm
Sat: 9am-4:45pm
Sun: 10am-5:45pm
